Tenant Fees

We are required by law to disclose all charges and the information given below is provided to ensure you are fully informed of any fees and costs involved in renting a property through My Lets. If you have any questions at all then please give a member of the My Team call and we will be happy to talk you through everything.

Permitted Payments:

An initial holding deposit equivalent to 1 weeks' rent will be required to reserve the property whilst references are processed. With your agreement, and in accordance with the Tenant Fees Act 2019, this holding deposit will be allocated toward the first months' rent,

One month's rent in advance (this amount could be more if you opt to pay in advance for 6 or 12 months)

Tenancy deposit - Equal to 5 weeks rent.

Change to the tenancy - Variation, assignment or amendment (including change of sharer) £50 inc VAT

Permitted Default Fees:

Rent - Interest will be charged in line with the Bank of England’s rate + 3%, if a rent payment is more than 14 days overdue for each day the payment is outstanding. 

Lost keys - The tenant is responsible for ensuring that they look after the keys for the property throughout the tenancy. If they fail to do so, they will be responsible for covering the reasonable costs of replacement.

Tenant Protection:

My Lets is a member of Client Money Protect, which is a client money protection scheme, and also a member of The Property Ombudsman, which is a redress scheme. Please contact My Lets for more details.
